Reason for two options available for Mathematics

Best of Five System :

The MP Board’s decision to base results on the top five highest-scoring subjects instead of all six led to initially better-looking results. However, this system had unintended negative consequences. Students started neglecting subjects in which they scored lower, such as English, Mathematics or Science. As a result after 10th grade many students hesitated to choose Mathematics or Science in 11th grade. Another adverse effect was the development of a tendency among students to avoid challenging subjects. This trend began to appear detrimental to students’ futures.

    Competition to Other Board

Considering the need to prepare students in Madhya Pradesh to compete on par with students across the country it became apparent that the “Best of Five System” should be discontinued. Consequently, orders were issued to abolish the “Best of Five System” to address these concerns.

Subject that caused fear among students in the MP Board 10th grade was Mathematics. However, the NEP 2020 has addressed this issue. Now MP Board Declared Basic and Standard Maths in 9th and 10th Options . Mathematics is being divided into two types: Basic Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics. Basic Mathematics includes concepts that are entirely practical and necessary for everyday life. Advanced Mathematics is designed for students who wish to continue their studies in Mathematics in higher education.
